Section II – Hazardous Ingredients

Bio-Glass does not contain hazardous ingredients

Section III – Physical & Chemical Characteristics

Glass is made of almost 100% crystalline silica in the form of quartz containing 70-72% weight % silicon dioxide.

Bio-Glass consists of 100% recycled glass. Bio-Glass colors depend on recycled components (hollow glass, tableware, and/or factory shards).

Section IV – Fire and Explosion Hazard Data

Bio-Glass materials are stable.

Section V – Health Hazard Data

Sanding, sawing or grinding may result in the release of dust particles which may cause irritation of the eye or nose or, with excessive long term exposure cause lung disease.

SYMPTOMS:
Skin: Dryness, and/or irritation
Inhale: Shortness of Breath or Irritation of Nose
Eyes: Irritation

FIRST AID:
Skin – wash with soap and water
Inhale – remove to fresh air
Eyes – rinse with fresh water
If any symptoms persist, see a physician

Section VI – Reactivity Data

Bio-Glass materials are non-reactive.
When burned, no known hazardous by-products are emitted.

Section VII – Precautions for safe handling & use

Not considered hazardous waste.

Section VIII – Control Measures

Wear NIOSH approved HEPA respirators and safety glasses when sanding, sawing or grinding the material. Ventilation is required in confined areas where large amounts of dust will accumulate. Dust Control Equipment recommended.
