Environmental Mission

● ENVIRONMENTAL MISSION

Our environmental mission at COVERINGS ETC is to prioritize environmental care in every aspect of our business, from the products we showcase to the practices we operate and the contributions we make to the community. We are committed to setting an example of sustainable leadership and responsibility, and we strive to create a better world for all. Our dedication to sustainability is reflected in the third-party certifications and listings our materials have earned from industry leaders such as Cradle-to-Cradle, Material ConneXion, NSF, and GreenSpec.

A leading producer of sustainable materials, awarded the Cradle to Cradle Certified® Gold designation for its BIO-GLASS® material, a product made entirely from recycled glass.

● CRADLE TO CRADLE

This prestigious recognition is a testament to Coverings ETC's unwavering commitment to eco-friendly and sustainable manufacturing practices, as well as its dedication to reducing its carbon footprint and contributing to the circular economy.

BIO-GLASS® is a fully recyclable, circular material that can be utilized in various applications, including countertops, flooring, and wall tiles.

Coverings ETC's Future Friendly™ collection represents its commitment to creating environmentally friendly, high-quality products while minimizing its impact on the environment. The Cradle to Cradle Certified® program evaluates products based on five critical categories, including material health, material reutilization, renewable energy use, water stewardship, and social fairness.

Coverings ETC's achievement of the Cradle to Cradle Certified® Gold designation reflects its tireless efforts to produce a top-quality product that meets and exceeds strict sustainability standards. Its commitment to building a more sustainable future for the planet while creating resilient materials is a shining example of its dedication to sustainable practices.

● HPD

Coverings ETC is committed to using sustainable materials in their products and ensuring that they are part of our process to reduce our impact on the planet. As part of this commitment, all of their products have an HPD (Health Product Declaration) which discloses the ingredients, health hazards, and environmental impacts of the materials used in their products. This transparency allows customers to make informed decisions about the products they use and ensures that the materials used are safe for both occupants and the environment.

Environmental Initiatives

● ENVIRONMENTAL INITIATIVES

Helping to offset carbon emissions, improve air quality, and create habitats for wildlife.

Coverings ETC is committed to environmental sustainability and has implemented various initiatives to reduce its environmental impact. One of these initiatives is our reforest program, which involves planting hundreds of trees every month.

In addition to our reforestation program, we have also implemented measures to be carbon neutral. Our manufacturing processes are designed to minimize waste, and our materials are cut to size, which contributes to source reduction and efficient waste management. By reducing waste, we are also reducing our energy consumption and emissions.

The Coverings group is also involved in adaptive reuse, which is the process of repurposing existing buildings and structures for new uses. Our goal is to help permanently remove carbon from the atmosphere.

Our company is located in an adaptive reuse complex in an urban forest area, which further demonstrates our commitment to environmental sustainability. By repurposing existing structures instead of building new ones, we are reducing our environmental impact and preserving natural resources that protect the earth's soil, plants, and trees.

Overall, Coverings ETC's environmental initiatives demonstrate our commitment to sustainability and responsible stewardship of the environment. Through our reforest program, carbon reduction measures, waste management practices, and adaptive reuse efforts, we are actively working towards a greener future for our planet.

Circular Economy Miami

● CIRCULAR ECONOMY

At Coverings ETC, we are committed to promoting a circular economy, not only through our manufacturing of circular materials, but also through our involvement in the circular economy community. For the past four years, we have proudly hosted the Miami chapter of the International Circular Economy Club, bringing together like-minded individuals and organizations to advance circular practices and innovation.

Our dedication to the circular economy extends to our products, such as our Bio-Glass®, which is made from 100% recycled glass and is fully recyclable. This product is Cradle-to-Cradle Gold certified, ensuring that it meets strict sustainability standards and can be safely reused in future products or applications.

As a manufacturer leader for environmental and circular materials, we understand the importance of sustainable design and bio-architecture projects. That's why we developed our Ecoverings collection, which is crafted with post-consumer recycled content and offers different solutions for sustainable design and construction.

● WHY GREENBUILDING

Why Greenbuilding

Let’s close the loop.

As members of the US Green Building Council (USGBC), our commitment to sustainable practices is reflected in our focus on green materials and building greener buildings.

Our products can help contribute towards earning points for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification, which emphasizes the use of recycled materials, embodied energy, waste management, resource efficiency, and indoor air quality, among other criteria.

Using green materials in construction and building greener buildings can benefit the weather, environment, economy, and society.

LEED Certifications

Benefits of using green materials:

  • Reduction of harmful emissions during the manufacturing process
  • Lower energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions during the building's lifecycle
  • Reduction of waste in landfills
  • Improvement in air and water quality
  • Preservation of natural resources and habitats
  • Phasing out leather, aluminum, and plastic from the environment

Benefits of building greener buildings and pursuing LEED certification:

  • Lower operating costs due to reduced energy and water usage
  • Increased building value and marketability
  • Improved occupant health and productivity
  • Reduced environmental impact
  • Potential for tax incentives and other financial benefits
  • Increasing the use of clean energy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions

These elements are essential in creating sustainable, environmentally conscious buildings that promote health and well-being for occupants while minimizing negative impacts on the planet. By prioritizing these factors, buildings can achieve higher levels of LEED certification, demonstrating their commitment to sustainable practices and responsible stewardship of resources.
